just because... i want to shout it from the rooftops!

hm, i'm not very good with this blogging thing, am i? guess the novelty wore off after a while. but my mom's signed up on multiply now and so have i, so i've been thrown back into the blogosphere. i'm giving this blogging thing another shot... via the cross-post feature in multiply/blogger. might still keep my original posts in blogger and then cross-post select ones. who knows? we'll see how quickly i get lazy :)

that, and i have some news. for all of the 2 people that still peruse this blog (hi B)....

jobie asked me to marry him this weekend :)
yay!

just because... i have beat

woot! now you can listen to a smattering of what i listen to. see: mp3 player on right.

but, all my latest faves purchased on iTunes are protected and too much of a hassle to rip to mp3 - blah. so, no new beats from the Sounds, Strokes, BlocParty, Rilo Kiley, etcetc, for now. poo!

just because... let's all SSHH for a second

minute of silence, please.

* minute *

(stolen from makansutra - excellent local foodie guide!)

my dad has informed me that my absolute favorite Hokkien Mee stall in SinMing has finally closed down. :( in the 9 years that i've been away from singapore, every trip home has always included a taxi-ride down to SinMing (at the corner coffeeshop, next to 7-11) for my favorite plate of hokkien mee. during my first few trips back, i used to make that my very first stop, right after dumping my luggage and a quick shower. i didn't get a taste last year though - jobes and i visited it twice, and both times, they weren't open. something about the son not wanting to take over the business, sigh.

i've had hokkien mee a few different times in the past few weeks, even from the famous Thye Hong at Food Republic (i stood in line for about 10 minutes, and that was nothing, supposedly). but nothing will ever replace my SinMing hokkien mee - my trips home now will always be unfulfilled to a certain degree, my palate - a little unsatisfied. sob!
